Secretary of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control Remi Aboderin has hailed the the judges’ decision to award Floyd Mayweather jr. the winner in the fight against Manny Pacquaio, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Aboderin told completesportsnigeria.com: “I said I was with Mayweather. I said the fight will go the distance and Mayweather will win on points and I got it right.
“All the judges gave Mayweather the fight meaning an unanimous decision. Yahoo Sports gave Mayweather the bout. Statistics-wise, Mayweather threw 436 punches scoring 148, Manny threw 429 scoring 81.
“Judge Dave Moretti had it 10 rounds to 2 in favour of Mayweather 118 – 110. Judges Glenn Feldman and Burt Clements each saw it 116-112 giving Mayweather 8 of the 12 rounds.
“Yahoo Sports scored it 115-113 for Mayweather. Boxing is not about just throwing punches, but throwing scoring punches.”
A bronze medal winner at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Mayweather is now unbeaten in 48 professional fights.
