Former Nigeria international, Mutiu Adepoju, has played down the result of the international friendly game between the Super Eagles and Corsica which ended 1-1 on Friday.
Corsica went 1-0 up early in the game from the penalty spot through Jean-Jacques Mandrichi.
But the Eagles drew level also from the penalty spot thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho.
Speaking about the game, Adepoju stated that what is more important is the chemistry in the squad ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10.
"It's a buildup towards the game against South Africa. We shouldn't make any issue on the draw against Corsica considering that some of the players are still new. They are building the team up," the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner told Completesportsnigeria. com.
"I think what is important is how the team played, the understanding, not the result of the game."
The USA'94, France 1998 and Korea/Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup star however stated that the Super Eagles' next friendly against Togo with be tougher.
Adepoju added:"The Togolese are going to be a stiffer opposition for the Eagles and I believe the players would perform much better than they did in the game against Corsica."
