Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has backed the coach Stephen Keshi led team to reach the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Nigeria are in group F alongside former World Champions Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina and the former Eagle nicknamed “headmaster,” believes that the three times African Champions have all its takes to come out of the group.
The former Real Madrid of Spain star expressed optimism that the coaching crew can help the team achieve great things in Brazil.
Adepoju added that the team would break their first round jinx and progress to become the first African side to reach the last four of the World Cup.
“I think it is the easiest group, but for your information there is no push over in football again”
“ Nigeria chances are bright, so if we can pass that group, and I know we are going to do that, then we will be more confident.
“We can go to the semi-finals, no doubt I think Africa has a good chance, because we also have Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana and Algeria. With experienced players who are playing in some top Leagues, so we can reach that level.”
“I am very confident that the team will break their first round jinx in Brazil.” he sums up.Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
