Adi Nets Brace In Timbers’ Massive Win; Kayode Scores In Austria; Aluko On Target In Fulham Win

Nigerian forward, Fanendo Adi grabbed a brace in stoppage time of the second half for Portland Timbers as they spanked Minnesota United 5-1 in an MLS game on Saturday at Providence Park, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

In Austria, Olanrewaju Kayode ended his five-game goal drought firing his eighth goal of the season for Austria Wien who bagged 3-0 away win over Ried . He has featured 22 times this term. He played for 80 minutes before he made way for Kevin Freisenbach.

Alex Iwobi played all 90 minutes for Arsenal in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. The Nigerian has played 23 times for the Gunners and has scored three times.

Wilfred Ndidi made his seventh English Premier League start of the season for Leicester City who came froma goal down to defeat Hull City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in an English Premier League game on Saturday.

Ndidi lost possession in midfield for the Foxes in the run to the Tigers' opener in the 14th minute by Sam Clucas. The Nigeria international played all 90 minutes for Leicester who recorded back to back wins for the first time this season. His compatriot, Ahmed Musa was not listed for the game for the consecutive time.

At the Vicarage Road, Isaac Success came on for Etienne Capoue in the 70th minute for Watford who lost 4-2 at home to Southampton.

It was his 12th substitute appearance for the Hornets this season. He has one goal to his name this season.

In the Championship, Sone Aluko ended his six-game goal drought by scoring his sixth goal of the season for Fulham, in their 3-1 home win over Preston North End at Craven Cottage. He was replaced in the 88th minute by Denis Odoi in what was his 34th appearance.

At the Madejski Stadium, Nigeria's first choice strike Carl Ikeme was beaten twice in goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers who lost 2-1 to Reading on Saturday.

Ikeme and his teammates have lost six of their last seven games, and are just one points ahead of the bottom three. Ikeme has made 26 appearances in the 

English Football League this season, conceding 33 goals but has made 54 saves, keeping seven clean sheets.

In Scotland, Efe Ambrose made his second appearance for Hibernian in the Scottish Cup as the Hibs stayed on course to defend their title by defeating Ayr United 3-1.

In Spain, Uche Agbo was missing in action for Granada in their 1-0 loss away to Leganes Butarque stadium. Agbo has made 20 La Liga Santander appearances this term amassing ten yellow cards and one red.

  In Germany, Leon Balogun was not included in Mainz matchday squad that played  a 1-1 draw at home with Wolfsburg. Balogun who has been called up for Nigeria's two friendly games against Senegal and Burkina Faso is yet to feature for Mainz in 2017.

In the Bundesliga 2 division, Super Eagles invitee, Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee extended his goal drought to eight games for Hannover 96 who lost 2-0 away to Karlsruher SC. Bazee has one goal to his name in 11 appearances so far this term.

At the Regenboog Stadium in Belgium, Aliyu Bala came on for Henrik Dalsgaard in the 76th minute of Zulte-Waregem's 2-1 loss away to Westerlo. It was his fifth appearance of the campaign since joining from Slovakian side Trencin. His compatriot Kingsley Madu was an unused substitute.

In Belgium, Christian Osaguona made his fifth start for KV Mechelen in Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Anderlecht. He has one goal to his name.

Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu were handed starting roles for Gent who came from a goal down to beat Waasland-Beveren 3-2. Esiti made way for Kalifa Coulibaly at half time while Kalu featured for the entire duration of the game in what was his eighth appearance while it was the 19th of the season for Esiti. Moses Simon who has scored three goals in 22 games, Rabiu  and William Troost Ekong did not make the matchday squad. 

Henry Onyekuru failed to add to his goal tally of 11 goals for Eupen who lost 2-1 to St.Truiden.

In Portugal, Oghenekaro Etebo was in action from start for Feirense who lost 1-0 at home to Benfica. Etebo was one of the four Feirense player yellow-carded in the match.

In Turkey, Godfrey Oboabona,Nosa Emanuel Igiebor and Bright Edomwonyi were all handed starting roles for Rizespor who slumped to a 1-0 defeat away to Besiktas.

In Russian  Aaron Samuel played for 74 minutes for CSKA Moscow CSKA Moscow goalless draw at him to Zenit St. Petersburg. It was his first game since he resigned for the former Russian Champions. He made way for Bebras Natcho
