Perfumerías Avenida Baloncesto star Adaora Elonu is confident that Nigeria's D’Tigress will qualify for the FIBA Women's World Cup 2018 in Spain through the FIBA Women's AfroBasket but claims the team must be consistent to surpass their third place finish in Cameroon two years ago.
The Nigerian ladies are drawn in Afrobasket Group B along with Senegal, Egypt, Mozambique, Guinea and Congo. They will begin their campaign against Mozambique on the 18th of August before taking on Congo, Egypt, Guinea and Senegal.
"We are still growing, so I think consistency will be a good improvement for us. We can always get better and consistency will help that transpire smoothly," the 27-year-old forward told FIBA.com.
"I, as well as a few other teammates, have played in Spain, and it would be a great feeling if we could return and play in a country we are familiar with playing in."
Meanwhile, DTigress Head coach, Sam Vincent will soon announce his final squad for the 23rd edition of the Afrobasket championship.
