Agbim: AFCON Ticket Is a Must

Super Eagles goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim has stated that the team cannot afford to miss out in next year’s AFCON in Morocco.

Speaking from the team’s camp in Abuja, Agbim said it’s only determination that will see them secure all three points.

“We need to really work hard as a team and show enough determination to win”, begins the Gombe United goalkeeper.

“Sudan is as good as other teams in our group so we need to give our best.”

Victories for the Eagles in both legs against Sudan will put Nigeria back on track in the qualifiers.

Congo and South Africa, who both have six points and four points respectively, will face each other.

    All the best against Sudan.

On a related matter Chigozie Agbim is a player that should not be in the Super Eagles. That 3rd Goal Keeper position should go to a young goal Keeper approx between 18-25 years old, so he can gain valuable experience from Enyeama and Ejide. It is sad bcoz Agbim 30 years old the same age as Ejide and only 2 years younger than Enyeama. Nigerians dont have confidence in Agbim, and he will always be third choice to Ejide and Enyeama, so why waist that space in the team when a younger goal keeper can benefit by learning from more experienced colleagues?

These are the kinds of decisions that are making Nigeria’s supporters and football analysts second guess Keshi. Agbim should have been quietly dropped after the world cup, but Keshi probably has him in the team for Non-footballing reasons.
