Radamel Falcao’s agent has revealed the Colombian striker could leave Manchester United at the end of the season after he was axed from the squad to play Southampton on Sunday.
The 28-year-old was left out of Louis van Gaal’s 18-man squad as United suffered a 1-0 defeat without having a shot on target.
Falcao arrived at Old Trafford on loan from Monaco on deadline day in September.
There is a deal in place for United to sign him permanently for £43.2m at the end of the season. But Jorge Mendes insists the former Atletico Madrid man’s future is far from certain.
Mendes said: “I don’t know. He is a fantastic player, and I think it’s very difficult for Manchester United fans.
“They have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club.
“The truth is, right now we don’t know what will happen. What we do know is that he will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not.
