Aina Doubtful For Eagles Vs Seychelles Game

Torino wing-back Ola Aina is a major doubt for Nigeria 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles on Saturday reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Aina sustained a muscular injury while in action for Torino in Sunday’s 1-0 win over SPAL in an Italian Serie A clash according to a report on Italian website, Toro.it.

The 22 year old featured for 87 minutes before he was replaced by Alex Berenguer.

“I hope it is not a stretch, he (Aina) felt a kind of cramp,” Torino manager, Walter Mazzarri was quoted on Toro.it.

“He will leave for the National team as a regulation then they will visit him there.”

“The player has undergone examinations that has highlighted a small muscle problem in the biceps femoris of the left thigh.”

More tests are needed to ascertain the extent of the damage to the left femoral bicep the report also revealed.

Aina was sensationally dropped from the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Chelsea loanee has made six appearances for the Super Eagles since he made his debut.

Please the coach should call up Musa Mohammed to join with the rest of the squad. As it stands now with this injury issues, we don’t have a natural Right back except Musa Mohammed.

    • Mohammed Musa has not even smelt the bench for Gorica this season. We cannot be calling up people who are not even in the match day squad for their clubs. He cannot be match fit, since he has not played one minute of competitive football this season.

Bryan Idowu (a natural right footer) can play right back with Omeruo behind him and Samuel Kalu ahead of him. At least those two (Omeruo/Idowu dey enter bench) have been training and ready to enter pitch at any time.

Mohammed Musa has not even been at his club, he has been doing salah in Kano and we have not heard anything from him football wise since July

Fool. When last did he play for his division 2 club ?

  • _A POINT OF CORRECTION_

It amounts to labouring under a misconception to say that, and I quote, “Mohammed Musa has not even smelt the bench for Gorica this season”

As it so happens, Musa Muhammed was very much active for his club in Croatia in the month of August; more active than Omeruo and Idowu combined I might add.

    _Matches played_

    – GORICA VS. RUDEŠ 2 – 0 (25.08.18): Musa Muhammed was introduced in 72 minutes to replace. M. Dvorneković. The match also featured little known Nigerian midfielder I. Atiemwen – who was yellow carded – and another Nigerian defender E Obanor (also yellow carded) who played for the opposition.

    – ISTRA 1961 VS. GORICA 0 – 2 (02.09.18): Musa Muhammed was introduced in 87th minutes to replace his fellow countryman Atiemwen.

    – HAJDUK SPLIT VS. GORICA 0 – 2 (19.08.18): Musa Muhammed was introduced in 84 minutes for Miya. His countryman Atiemwen scored in 27 minutes.

Musa Muhammed is being eased into life in the Croatian tier 2 league.

Should he continue his development in Croatia, supplemented with hard work and relentless focus, there is no reason why the door to the Super Eagles team should not be open to the U-17 world cup winner in the not-too-distant future.

    • As they keep easing him as an under U23, his beards will refuse to go down. Big belle go follow and that would signal the end of M. Mohammed. My own be this

    • deo, I stand corrected I was looking at the wrong Gorika, lol. I was looking for him at Gorica in Slovenia (as directed by Google) instead of HNK Gorica Croatia. “The power of google”. Thanks for that.

But still 17 minutes, 3 minutes and 6 minutes means at least he has been training and on the bench

  • Whether Musa Muhammad fulfils his potentials or not, its up to him, his advisers and his family ; it doesn’t affect me either way.

I just wanted to correct @BigD who posted incorrectly that M. Muhammed, in his words, “cannot be match fit, since he has not played one minute of competitive football this season.”

    That’s just wrong.

Muhammed has sadly had an inclement club career since his heroics and delicious crosses at under-17 football brought his skills, and prospect to sharp focus leading to many a Super Eagles fan to track his progress ever since.

Any right minded Nigerian well-wisher will hope that the hindrances and obstacles he has faced thus far in his career will be a thing of the past and finally, his trajectory will take an upward movement from here on in.

Success and consistency will by good for him and good for the Super Eagles.

But still 17 minutes, 3 minutes and 6 minutes means at least he has been training and on the bench. He’s played 27 minutes of 270 (10%) of available playing time

Two great fools that doesn’t know the truth but keep spreading rumours about things they don’t know. For your info @Big D, I follow up all super Eagles player week after week and Musa Mohammed was in action for HNK Gorica this weekend. Last week, he came on later in the game as a substitute. The other weeks that he wasn’t in action, he was on the bench all through the game. So i wander where you get your fake news from. The Bryan Idowu you said should play, is even the only Super Eagles player(If i may say) that has not kicked a single stone since Club football resumes. He’s always warming the bench week after week for Locomotiv Moscow.
I think a day ago as well, you were giving another fake report about Blessing Eleke too. You said he has 4 goals in 3 games. Chai! Someone who just scored his first goal of the season on Saturday for Fc Luzern. Fake news carrier! Stop confusimg people with your fake news, and kindly keep shut if you have nothing meaningful to say.
@Jones, HNK Gorica is in Croatia’s Top division league not second
