Coaches of South Sudan (Bilal Felix Komoyangi), Namibia ( Ricardo Mannetti) and Swaziland (Mlungisi Dlamini) were the other coaches in Africa who voted for Moses who won the English Premier League title with Chelsea last year as their 2017 Confederation of African Football Player of the Year.
Moses polled a total of 215 votes overall to finish fourth behind winner Mohamed Salah who was crowned in Accra, Ghana on Thursday.
Egypt and Liverpool star Salah got 625 points against 507 points for Sadio Mane of Senegal and Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who received 311 points.
Moses got 10 votes from the Independent Media and TV Consultants category with only Jaquelline Shipanga, a Namibian national women soccer coach, voting for him.
FC Porto’s Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar finished fifth in the poll with 106 points.
Salah who succeeds Riyard Mahrez as the best player in Africa, joined Liverpool from Serie A side Roma over the summer for £34m. He has been impressive for the Reds, scoring 23 goals in 29 matches across all competitions. In Salah’s 60 official games in 2017 for Egypt, Roma and Liverpool, he scored 39 goals and made 19 assists.
