Super Eagles and Bursaspor defender, Abdullahi Shehu, has promised the sum of N100,000 naira for each goal scored by his childhood club, Sokoto United when they take on former Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars in a round of 32 NFF Aiteo Cup fixture billed for Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Shehu started his amateur career with Sokoto United before moving to Plateau United and later playing professionally for Kano Pillars from 2012 to 2014.
The 25 year old tweeted on Thursday: “I’m here to let you know that each goal you score against Kano Pillars with a win, I will give you 100, 000 for it….. If you can score 5 – 10, I’m ready to ready to give you the money. I am just here to show my support and I wish you success in the game and stay injury free.”
Sokoto United defeated NPFL side MFM FC of Lagos 4-3 on penalties to advance from the round of 64.
Shehu recently rejoined his Bursaspor teammates in training after missing Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Seychelles last Saturday due to injury.
