Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi is thrilled to play a part in Al Ahly’s Egyptian Super Cup victory against Al Masry on Friday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com (
Ajayi played for 97 minutes as Hossam El- Badry’s men recorded a hard fought 1-0 win against Al Masry at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium courtesy of a 101st minutes strike by Walid Azarou.
The tension soaked encounter ended 0-0 after 90 minutes, and went into extra time.
It was Red Devils 10th Super Cup title and another trophy in their rich cabinet after they claimed the double last season.
Ajayi, a former Nigeria U-23 Eagles forward, took to Twitter to express his joy on the great feat few hours after the game.
“I thank God for being a part of the winning team today. Congratulations to @AlAhly ! We are the #champ10ns of Super Cup. Glad I played my part. We will continue to win because winning trophy is a great thing. Thanks to my fans,” Ajayi wrote on his Twitter handle.
