Nigerian striker Junior Ajayi was on target for Al Ahly who thrashed Smouha 4-0 to advance into the final of the Egyptian Cup in Alexandria on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ajayi gave Al Ahly the lead in the 38th minute before Waleed Soliman made it 2-0 two minutes later.
In the 55th minute, Soliman got his second goal to make it 3-0 before, with 14 minutes left, substitute Saleh Gomaa completed the rout.
Al Ahly will make their third consecutive appearance in the final of the Egyptian Cup when they meet Al Masry later this month. In the 2015 and 2016 finals, they lost to perenial rivals Zamalek.
To get to the final, Al Masry beat Zamalek 2-0 on Tuesday with Nigerian defender Maroof Youssef suffering defeat with the White Knights.
Ahly, who went through the season unbeaten to win this season’so league title, last won the Cup competition in 2007 when they defeated Zamalek 4-3.
