By Johnny Edward: Nigerian winger, Chukwuma Akabueze, is delighted to have helped Boluspor record their ninth league win of the season in the Turkish TFF First League (second division) on Saturday, Completesportnigeria.com reports.
Yusuf Emre, Gultekin, Melih Okutan and Rydell Poepon were the goalscorers for Boluspor who moved up to seventh in the Turkish TFF First League table with 13 games left to play.
Akabueze, who made his 21st appearance for Boluspor in the encounter and provided two assists, hopes Boluspor qualifies for the promotional play off spot at the end of the season.
“It was a great win and I hope this continues till the end of the season,” Akabueze told CSN.
“We still have a long way to go.”
Akabueze, who was in the Flying Eagles squad who got to the quarter-finals of the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, also hopes he gets considered by coach Gernot Rohr for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
“It’s the dream of every player to be in the squad for the World Cup and I believe I can be a valuable asset to the team,” Akabueze, 28, added.
The player fondly known as ‘Bentley’ started out at Kwara United in Nigeria before featuring for Odds BK, SK Brann and Wuhan Zall.
