Hugely popular Nigerian movie ‘twins’ Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, more recognised by their stage names Aki and Pawpaw, have been temporarily split by football.
They have taken sides in Sunday’s Community Shield clash between Arsenal and Chelsea, one going for the Gunners, the other for the Blues.
The two actors, who have appeared in hundreds of movies, some of the blockbusters, are keen football fans and have been known to attend big matches and tournaments all over the world.
Completesportsnigeria.com got the duo to talk, amid their busy schedules, about Sunday’s clash.
Chinedu Ikedieze is an Arsenal fan while Osita Iheme is a Chelsea fan.
Both had some interesting things to say albeit briefly about the game which will be the 14th meeting between the managers of both London rivals.
First to speak is Osita Iheme (Pawpaw).
“Chelsea will win the game, that I’m sure. Jose Mourinho has never lost to Arsene Wenger when both teams play and I don’t expect that record to change now.
“Mourinho can lose to a team handled by, say, Sir Alex Ferguson but he will not want to be defeated by his rival, Wenger.
“And Chelsea have had mixed pre-season fortunes and will want to start the season on a good note. We are not bothered by the sale of Petr Cech to Arsenal. They will lose,” Iheme boasted to completesportsnigeria.com.
Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) whose support for Arsenal dates back to the days when former Super Eagles striker and two-time African Footballer of the Year Nwankwo Kanu was a player of the Gunners fired back.
“Arsenal will win this game. They have not defeated Chelsea when Mourinho is in charge but records are meant to be broken,” Aki told completesportsnigeria.com.
“I’m sure Arsene Wenger is looking forward to winning it because it will mean they are serious to challenge for the title. And what a signing Petr Cech was. He could prove decisive in this game. The Gunners will shock their critics this season.”
