–Suspended crown coach bears no misgivings over suspension
Crown Football Club head coach, Lawrence Akpokona is not losing sleep over suspension by the club’s management.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure handler told completesports that he received the news in good faith and is looking forward to returning to his post.
”I received a letter from the club on Thursday asking me to step aside,”he begins.
”I’m not disturbed by the decision of the club management as that is the normal practice everywhere in the world.
”These things happen to coaches and I’m looking forward to getting back to my post.
”For now, I have to wait for the Chairman [Bello Noah] to return before the whole issue will be resolved” insists Akpokona.
The Ogbomosho based outfit on Thursday announced the immediate suspension of the former Rangers International of Enugu coach.
They cited the teams unimpressive showing in recent outing as the reason for their action.
The former Enugu Rangers manager joined Crown FC in the off-season before the 2013/14 Glo Premier League and took charge of 21 league matches in which the club won seven, drew three and lost 11.
One of Akpokona’s assistants, Daniel Ogunmodede or Oseni Babalola, is likely to take charge of the team temporarily.
Crown FC currently sit third from bottom with 24 points and are three points away from safety.
