Nigerian born forward Chuba Akpom is desperate for more playing time at Arsenal after making his first appearance this season for the Gunners in Tuesday's English League Cup win over Nottingham Forest, reports Completesportsnigeria.
The England Under-21 who is prepared to play in any position 'even in goal' for the Gunners gave a good account of himself playing from the left flank and won a penalty as Arsenal thumped Nottingham Forest 4-0 to advance to the next round fo the competition.
"I think right now I’d play anywhere, I’d play in goal just to get minutes, just to be involved in the team. I didn’t mind playing on the wing," Akpom told Arsenal Player magazine after the match.
"I’ll play anywhere the boss wants me to play, but against Nottingham Forest it was still an attacking position and I just tried to be as much of a threat as I could."
"Hopefully, more games and more minutes. The feeling of just going out there with an Arsenal top on and just playing is the best feeling and that’s the feeling that I want to have, so I’ve just got to keep working hard in training and keep working hard to just get out there and get as many minutes as I can.
He also praised the senior players that featured in the game for helping the young players settle in well during the encounter.
"I think the senior players all helped us out and we got a good result today. A lot of young players involved like me, Ainsley and Jeff.
"We tried to add as much fun as we could on the pitch and the main thing was to stay disciplined because there were a lot of changes to the team."
