Akwa United players and officials will be rewarded with car gifts by the state government for winning their first Federation Cup, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Promise Keepers won a historic first Federation Cup on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium edging out Lobi Stars 2-1 in the final.
Completesportsnigeria.com also scooped that Micheal Eddidiong, a member of the Golden Eaglets squad that came tops at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, who is an indigene of the state, will also benefit from the gesture.
“Each player will get a car for their effort in winning the Federation Cup,” a club source informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Also Micheal, the Golden Eaglet player who made the squad to Chile, will also be rewarded by the state government.
“The players were aware of this before they came down to Lagos for the final and I believe it really motivated them to give their best.”
