Nigeria forward Junior Ajayi is on the list of 19 players retained by Egyptian giants Al Ahly for the 2018/2019 league season, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
Ajayi, 22, according to a report in Kingfut.com is joined on the list by Egyptian internationals Marwan Mohsen, Mohamed El Shenawy and Mido Gaber.
The striker who missed out on a place in Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia has been linked with a move to Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.
Al Ahly have made it known that they are unwilling to sell the versatile forward after losing some of their stars last season.
It remains to be seen if the former Shooting Stars player will push for the move.
Ajayi who joined the Red Devils in September 2016 from Tunisian club, CS Sfaxien has scored 21 goals and provided 18 assists in 71 apperances across all competitions.
