Former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu, insists the current side can emulate his set by successfully defending the FIFA U-17 WorldCup title in Chile.
Alampasu played a key role for the Eaglets at the last edition of the competition in the United Arab Emirates where they won a record fourth title.
The reigning world U-17 champions will open the defence of their title against the United States of America on Saturday at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradaos.
Alampasu who was voted the best goalkeeper at the last tournament is confident the current youngsters can win the crown once again.
"I believe they can emulate us by winning the trophy in Chile," he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"It's going to be a difficult task as the other teams have the same ambition, but I believe they have what it takes to rule the world."
The Eaglets will also compete against hosts Chile and Croatia in Group A of the competition.
