By Adeboye Amosu: Austria Wien midfielder, Ibrahim Alhassan, hopes he will get a chance to vie for a place in Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Alhassan was touted as one of the most gifted midfielders in the Nigeria Professional Football League prior to his move to Austria Wien, and earned a call up to the Super Eagles in May following his superb showing then for Akwa United.
He has impressed since linking up with Austria Wien scoring one goal in 13 appearances for the Austrian Bundesliga outfit.
“It will be great to be part of the Super Eagles again. The World Cup is coming up next year, and I hope to get the chance to fight for a place in the team,” the former junior international told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“To do that, I must keep doing well at my club which I believe is the only way I can get recognised by the coaches. I know the coaches are monitoring all of us, and I will keep fighting hard to make the team.
“I still remember fondly the time I spent in the team and I hope to be back, most importantly, ahead of the World Cup.”
