Nigerian midfielder Ramon Azeez has expressed his delight at helping Almeria pick up their first win of the season after beating Real Sociedad at the hostile Anoeta stadium for the first time in their history.
The 21-year old midfielder who made his first appearance for the club this season however believes there’s still more to come from his side as they prepare to face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
“We had chances to score more than two despite having to play with 10 men for about 12 minutes,” Azeez told Complete Sports in a chat.
“The win was very important for the team as it was our first of the season.
“It was very exciting for me in my first start. My teammates welcomed me very well after missing the last three games due to international assignments and a suspension on the opening day.
“I think it was a good game, I’m looking forward to improving in our next game against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The victory left Almeria in tenth place, four points behind leaders Barcelona.
