Ambrose: Bafana Were Tough

–Eagles star confesses after Cape Town draw

Nigeria and Celtic of Scotland defender, Efe Ambrose has admitted that Wednesday’s AFCON 2015 tie against Bafana Bafana of South Africa was very difficult for the Super Eagles but the team remains happy having improved on the weekend’s 2-3 loss to Congo in Calabar.

Ambrose stated that the players will do everything possible to make it to the Nations Cup finals which will be staged next year in Morocco.

“It was a very difficult game and not what we expected but we give God the glory for the draw we got in the match”, the former Kaduna United wing-back enthused.

He added: “Every nation is trying to battle with the giant of Africa and we know it’s not easy but at the same time, we will give them a very good fight and we’ll continue to show improvement in our team.”

“We’ll make sure that we put smiles on the faces of Nigerians in our remaining matches and make sure that we qualify for the next Nations Cup finals.”

The scoreless draw with South Africa in Cape Town puts the Super Eagles on third position in the group with just one point with Red Devils of Congo at the driver’s seat with maximum six points from two games.

South Africa are second with four points while Sudan are without a point having lost her two games, 0-3 to South Africa and 0-2 to Congo.

  • No they were not. You were just useless. Bunch of mediocre players playing for average teams. You would never smell the SE if not for the corrupt and parochial coach we have. Crappy players all the way. Bafana were poor. A good team would have taken you and your mercenaries to the wood shed in light of how pathetically poor you were in all facets of the game. I truly have never seem a Nigerian team, at any level play as bad as Ke$hi’s team. No shape, no tactics, no heart, no pride, no football IQ whatsoever!

Eagles are excellent in talking but poor to deliver on pitch.Though we won AFCONs when they were playing like a wounded lion compare to their current emolient style of playing,Keshi impact is still far from being seen.We are where we are because of his technical defficient.I used to admire him,but now,I wound not sympathize with him if the NFF decided to fire him as his recent performance can justify such action against him

My prayer is that i dn’t wan2 loose Moroco 2015. I want to see Eagles there. But with what they are displaying now, I fear every day whether we can truly be there

  • i wish Keshi can use John Obi Mikel as a defensive midfielder and should Iheaneho as an attacking midfielder with Sunday Mba. Also invite Ikechukwu Uche Victor Anichebe and Brown Ideye to play with Emmanuel Emenike.
