Celtic of Scotland defender Efe Ambrose is not losing sleep over his non-inclusion in the list of Super Eagles players for the upcoming friendly games, according to a source close to the defender who just won the Scottish League Cup.
“When he was told he was not in the list he said that it is the will of God and he understands he can’t play for Nigeria forever, just as he was given his breakthrough in 2007 he also believes other players at a point will be preferred ahead of him,’ A source told SL10.ng.
“Obviously he is dissapointed to miss out as he loves to play for Nigeria, but he is not bothered about it, just as he didn’t influence his call up to the team from the start, he is powerless to stop them from dropping him.”
Ambrose, a Nations Cup winner with Nigeria in the 2013 edition, made his debut for Nigeria in 2011 in a friendly game against Argentina, which Nigeria won 4-1 and has gone on to make 40 more appearances for Nigeria since then.
An Olympic silver medallist, he caused a stir when he reportedly quit the national team after beingg snubbed for the Nations cup qualifier against Sudan, however he denied quitting the team.
