Nigerian defender, Efe Ambrose’s Scottish club, Hibernian, will take on fellow Nigerian Bartholomew Ogbeche’s Dutch side, Willem II, in a friendly game during the winter break in January, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Hibernian confirmed the friendly on their official website on Tuesday.
According to Hibernian, the game is scheduled for Friday 12 January in Portugal.
A statement on the Hibernian websites reads: “Hibernian will play Willem II in January as part of the club’s training camp during the winter break.
“Neil Lennon’s squad will head to the Algarve for a week’s training in preparation for the second half of the season.
“The side will face the Dutch Eredivisie side on Friday 12 January at the Estadio Municipal VRSA.
“Hibernian have played at the same stadium in recent years, taking on Nottingham Forest in a pre-season friendly in 2013.
“Willem II currently sit 14th in the Eredivisie, the top league in Dutch football, with four wins and three draws from their opening 15 matches.”
Ogbeche scored for Willem II in their 1-1 home draw against NAC Breda last week Friday in the Dutch top flight, netting his seventh goal in his sixth league game.
Also on target was Ambrose for Hibernian, in their 2-2 draw against his former club Celtic on Sunday, scoring his side’s first goal.
It was Ambrose’s first goal of the season for Hibernian.
