Celtic of Scotland defender Efe Ambrose has told Complete Sports he is not aware of any interest from newly promoted Premier League side Burnley FC.
The former Israel-based star was part of the Super Eagles squad to the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup concentrating on Celtic’s European challenge for now.
“I’m fully interested only in Celtic at the moment and we have the Champions League at hand which is our major focus plus the new domestic season,” Ambrose said. “We played last week and everybody’s concentration is on the next game, so I am not aware of any interest for now.”
Burnley boss Sean Dyche who has already recruited six new players since the team got promotion to the English top flight is reportedly looking to adding the Nigeria international to team and an effort to strengthen the defence ahead of the challenges in the EPL.
“For now, I have a contract with Celtic and I am focusing on that for now, but the truth is that I have not been contacted for anything and I have a manager who will know better. He is the one that also discuss anything that has to do with transfer but I just want to focus for now.
Meanwhile, Leicester and Crystal Place have been linked with the Nigeria international in the past but the interest appeared to have been rested for now.
