Super Eagles striker at the 2014 World Cup Shola Ameobi could make his debut for Crystal Palace against Arsenal Saturday.
The former Newcastle striker moved to Selhurst Park on January 29, arriving on a free transfer until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old is yet to make his debut for the Eagles as he continues to work himself up to match fitness.
But manager Alan Pardew has revealed to the club’s website that the Nigerian could make his bow against Arsenal this weekend.
Pardew said: “Shola is getting close and he has worked hard this week in training – his experience is going to be important for us and I’m looking forward to seeing him in a red and blue shirt – he has got a chance for this game [against Arsenal].”
Ameobi last played in the English top flight for Newcastle United (alongside brother, Sammy, who is still at the club) with Pardew as then manager before a stint in Turkey.
