D'Tigers forward Al Farouq Aminu is a major doubt for Portland Trail Blazers' clash away to the Utah Jazz early Thursday morning (Nigerian time), reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Al Farouq Aminu who notched his fifth career game of 14+ points and 14+ rebounds in the Blazers' 109-104 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, sprained his left knee in their last game and may miss the game at the Vivint Smart Home Arena according to a report on rotoworld.com.
"Al-Farouq Aminu (left knee sprain) is doubtful to play Wednesday (3am Thursday, Nigerian time) Vs the Jazz," the report states.
"It's unclear exactly when Aminu suffered this injury, but it would make sense for Portland to just keep him on the sidelines on Wednesday (3am Thursday Nigerian time), to give him some extra rest heading into the All-Star break."
Moe Harkless and Meyers Leonard are options available to coach Terry Stotts in Aminu's place.
Aminu has featured in 36 of the Blazers' 55 NBA games this term.
The game could also see new arrival Jusuf Nurkic make his debut at Utah.
"Stotts ran the 7-footer through 4-on-4 drills during practice to introduce the team’s plays and I liked what I saw," coach Terry Stotts said.
The Portland Trail Blazers are currently placed ninth in the Western Conference one spot behind play-off zone.
