Amodu: I Won’t Neglect Home Based Players

–Eagles coach says November games crucial

Super Eagles interim coach Shaibu Amodu believes that the home based players are keys to football development in Nigeria as he assured that he will not neglect them as he prepares for the two AFCON qualifiers holding next month.

The former BCC Lions of Gboko handler who has been brought in by the Nigeria Football Federation to help the Super Eagles qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations after Coach Stephen Keshi was asked to step aside said he had already started preparation towards the two games.

“Home based are professionals and we are not going to neglect them, but you must agree with me that the two matches we have ahead are very crucial and only the best among the ones we have will be picked to join the foreign based that will be invited for the matches,” says Amodu
“One thing I must make Nigerians to understand is that the two matches we have are not experimental because we need nothing short of positive results in the two matches.

Meanwhile, Amodu is expected to use home based players to prosecute the international friendly match billed to hold on November 6. The match which will see a North African team playing against Nigeria will also be used to open the Uyo Stadium officially.
