Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi, has joined the coaching crew of NPFL side, FC Ifeanyiubah, completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Also, former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, has been hired by the oil mogul owner of the club to take the goalkeeper trainer responsibility at the club.
Completesportsnigeria.com regular checks in the club reveal that Amokachi will head the coaching personnel in the capacity of technical adviser.
He thus becomes the boss of erstwhile handler, John Obuh, who now becomes chief coach of the club.
Both Amokachi and Shorunmu have assumed duties in the club and will make their debut in the NPFL match day 22 home clash against leaders, Sunshine Stars at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha.
The match was moved to 12 noon Monday following rainfall that rendered the pitch unplayable on Sunday when Heartland hosted Shooting Stars with Ifeanyiubah billed to confront Sunshine Stars later.
Completesportsnigeria.com recalls that Amokachi and Shorunmu were part of Stephen Keshi’s back room staff during his reign as Super Eagles coach.
They lost their senior national team jobs following Keshi’s sacking by NFF.
“Yes, we’re now with Ifeanyiubah, me and The Bull,” Shorunmu replied tersely when completesportsnigeria.com called him up.
Amokachi was earlier linked to Kano Pillars coaching job as replacement for sacked Okey Emordi but Ahmed Babaganaru was instead selected ahead of the former Super Eagles captain after both gaffers were in a strenuous interview by the Pyramid City club.
