—Team departs in chartered flight to South Africa today

Interim Super Eagles manager Daniel Amokachi has revealed that he will make wholesome changes to the squad that lost 1-0 to Uganda in Uyo on Wednesday ahead of the team’s tie against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Sunday.
Amokachi who conceded that no excuse will suffice for losing to Uganda at home revealed that the likes of Michael Babatunde, John Ogu and other players will be given a chance against South Africa.
“The fact that we had one training session is definitely not enough for the team to gel. There are a lot of new faces in the team and the way Nigeria wants to play, one training session cannot bring out our best”. Amokachi revealed.
“But it’s football, you don’t say I didn’t train that’s why I lost a game. As the coach you have to do what you can do to keep the players’ mindsets positive.”
Meanwhile Complete Sports can report that the team will depart today in a chartered flight to South Africa for Sunday’s international friendly billed for the Mbombela Stadium, South Africa.
The Bafana Bafana will be without at least four key players for Sunday’s game.
Dean Furman, May Mahlangu,Thulani Ngwenya and defender Anele Ngcongca are notable players ruled out of the encounter.
Nigeria have won seven of the previous 11 meetings, with Bafana winning one – the Nelson Mandela Challenge in 2004 – and the other three ending in draws.
