Shooting Stars Sports Club Technical adviser, Fatai Amoo, says his side will not be under pressure to face CAF Confederations Cup campaigners, Rivers United in their Saturday's matchday-26 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Yakubu Gown Stadium Port Harcourt, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
In the matchday-26 fixtures, only Rivers United Vs 3SC was scheduled to hold this weekend while the rest nine matches were rescheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 28 2017. This is to give the Pride of Rivers more space of time to accommodate their CAF Confederations Cup programme.
Amoo's 3SC who won 2-0 at home over ABS of Ilorin last weekend have not recorded back to back wins this season in the NPFL, neither have they recorded an away victory.
Amoo believes his side are gradually getting out of their difficult period following their last weekend's result.
Currently placed 18th in the Nigeria Professional Football League log, with 29 points from 25 games and a win for 3SC will see them leap out of the relegation zone.
"It is an advantage for them (Rivers United) playing in front of their home fans but that will also demotivate us," Amoo tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We respect them for the quality in their squad, and we won't be complacent on Saturday.
"We are in Port Harcourt for a mission and we hope to achieve it."
3SC who won the reverse fixture 2-1 back in February, will be without their new signing Abu Azeez for the encounter, Completesportsnigeria.com has gathered.
