National U-17 team, Golden Eaglets handler, Emmanuel Amuneke has disclosed that he will cut short his holidays with his family in Spain in a bid to ensure his players commence preparation well on time ahead the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Amuneke left for Spain last month after helping the World Cup defending champions grabbed a ticket to defend their crown during the CAF U-17 Championship in Niger Republic.
“My initial plan was to come back in June but as things stand now, I’ll be back in May”, Amuneke told Complete Sports from Spain.
“I had to cut short my stay because we have a lot of work to do in terms of preparation going into the World Cup.”
Amuneke embarked on a nationwide talent hunt after the African U-17 Championship to scout for talents to bolster his squad.
“We’ve a team on ground; we only tried to see if we can see some players who can add to what we already have in camp.
“And I would say it was a fruitful exercise. When we resume, we’ll see what they have or what they can offer the team.”
The former Super Eagles and Barcelona of Spain winger revealed that he has submitted his programme to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
