Ex-international, Emmanuel Amuneke believes that with proper focus and determination on the part of the players, the Super Eagles will go far in the 2014 FIFA World Cup holding in Brazil next summer, Complete Sports can report.
Speaking with Complete Sports, the newly appointed Golden Eaglets’ coach believes that the transformation in the team since Coach Stephen Keshi took over the team is an indication that they can excel in any tournament if they plan properly and make good use of the materials in the team.
“You will agree with me that the team we have now is different from what it used to be in few years back and with the quality of players we have now, if they remain focus and plan properly, I am sure that they will excel in Brazil”, says the soccer tactician
“I am impressed with their performance in the friendly match with Mexico recently but they can still do better and the only way that can be possible is for them to keep working hard and be focused.
The Super Eagles are billed to play Bosnia Herzegovina, Iran and Argentina in the first round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and Amuneke says he believes the team will go beyond the first round of the mundial .
Meanwhile, Amuneke has promised to move round the country to scout for players that will make his U-17 team strong.
“Work has started and I am already moving round to get players that will make the Eaglets team, it is a tasking job but I will do my best”, he says
