–Golden Eaglets coach embarks on holidays after CAN U-17 qualification
Golden Eaglets handler, Emmanuel Amuneke has informed Complete Sports that he will travel to Spain next week to re-unite with his family after a long period of separation on account of national assignment.
The former FC Barcelona of Spain winger guided the National U-17 team, Golden Eaglets qualified for the CAF U-17 Championship billed for next year in Niamey, Niger Republic.
After a 6-2 dispatch of their Gabonese foes in the final qualifying game, Amuneke handed his wards a break to refresh before returning to camp for final preparation for the Niamey 2015 showpiece.
“It’s been a long time I’ve been away on national duty so now that we’ve firmly secured the ticket for the 2015 CAN U-17 Championship, I think it’s important I travel to Spain to see my family”, the Super Eagles 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winning member said.
“I’m looking at traveling next week and when I come back, we’ll commence full preparation for the Championship proper.”
Amuneke was part of the coaching staff of the Golden Eaglets that won the FIFA U-17 trophy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE last year with Manu Garba as head coach.
