REAL MADRID boss Carlo Ancelotti reckons Liverpool’s problems aren’t due to the poor form of striker Mario Balotelli.
Instead, the Italian coach reckons the Reds are struggling to cope without star striker Luis Suarez, who they sold to Real’s fierce rivals Barcelona over the summer.
Balotelli has come under fire for a string of below-par displays following his summer move from AC Milan.
But speaking ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash at the Bernabeu, Ancelotti insisted there is more wrong at Anfield than just Balotelli’s recent displays.
“Balotelli is spoken of a lot, maybe too much,” he said. I don’t think all of Livepool’s problems are about Balotelli.
“He needs to do his work for the side, that’s all that can be asked of him. The coach needs to find the right system with the new players.
“They have lost Suarez who scored a lot and they need another solution.”
Balotelli has netted just twice for the club following his £16m arrival over the summer.
Boss Brendan Rodgers will be desperate for the ex-Manchester City man to burst into form tonight as Liverpool are hoping to earn revenge for their 3-0 loss in the reverse fixture last month.
