Nigeria forward, Victor Anichebe, is expected to be retained by Sunderland when his short term deal expires in the summer.
According to The Telegraph, relegated Sunderland plan to carryout an overhaul of its playing staff.
But Anichebe who has scored just three goals since joining as a free agent, will be asked to stay along with skipper John O'Shea and Serb Larsson.
However, Joleon Lescott , Steven Pienaar and Jan Kirchhoff will not be offered new deals as all three players are out of contract next month.
Also, there are feelers that Sunderland will look to move on Lamine Kone, Fabio Borini and Whabi Khazri as soon as the season has ended, with in-demand duo Jermain Defoe and Jordan Pickford expected to make big money moves.
Sunderland's relegation was confirmed last weekend after they lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth.
