West Brom boss Alan Irvine is a happy man after masterminding his team’s preseason win against third tier USA team Sacramento Republic.
The Baggies stepped up their English Premier League preparations with a 3-1 victory over Sacramento – with Victor Anichebe, Saido Berahino and Youssouf Mulumbu getting on the score sheet.
And the coach has praised the efforts of Anichebe and Berahino.
“I’ve been absolutely delighted with Victor and Saido,” Irvine was quoted by club’s official website.
“They’ve been terrific since I came in, both day in and day out in training and also in the games.”
The Premier League campaigners flew back home from the United States of America on Saturday and the coach is delighted with how the squad’s nine-day stay has progressed.
“It’s been a terrific week,” said the Scot.
“We’ve been really well looked after and we’ve nothing to complain about at all.
“The training ground’s been good, the weather’s obviously been fantastic, the hotel’s been great and we’ve been looked after really well.
