Argentina head coach Jorge Sampaoli has been handed a major boost ahead of Saturday’s Group D clash against Iceland with the return to training of Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega.
Banega, according to a report in Ole.com.ar, has been unable to partake in full training for the past five days after picking up calf injury in training last Friday.
He however returned to full training with his teammates in Bronnitsy on Wednesday, putting paid to speculations he will be replaced by another player.
The Albiceleste have been hit with injuries to some of their key stars in the build up to the World Cup.
Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero and West Ham United Manuel Lanzini have both been ruled out of the competition due to injury.
The two-time world champions will face debutants Iceland in their first group at the Spartak Stadium on Saturday.
Their second game is against Croatia at the Nizhny Novgorod before, while the last group game is against Nigeria on June 26 at Saint Petersburg.
