Argentina To Face Bolivia, Costa Rica In World Cup Friendlies

Nigeria’s Russia 2018 World Cup opponents Argentina have lined up two friendlies next month ahead of the competition.
According to a tweet on Mundo Albiceleste, the Jorge Sampaoli led side will face a team possibly to be Boliva on the 24 of May with the second game on the 29th of May against either of Costa Rica or Nicaragua.
“Argentina National Team will play a friendly match (opponent to be confirmed, possibly Bolivia) on May 24. A second match on May 29 (either Costa Rica or Nicaragua). One of those matches will be at either Boca or Velez’s stadium,” Argentine outlet Mundo Albiceleste tweeted.
Nicaragua were earlier confirmed to be opponents for the 29th of May but there are still some confirmations to be made and Costa Rica have emerged a possible replacement, a report by Mundo Albiceleste claimed.

After the games, Argentina will then travel to Barcelona on May 30 to train for five days before taking on Israel in their final preparatory game on June 6 before traveling to Russia for the Mundial.

Argentina defeated Italy 2-0 in their first friendly game in March at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England but suffered an embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Spain four days later at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Lionel Messi and his colleagues will also face Iceland and Croatia in Group D at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

  • oga, no be England suffer 6:1 defeat, it is Argentina fa …

  • Manchester is in England Mr Oso. Meanwhile this Argentina wants to practice practice practice with many friendly matches. Will that help them? I sincerely do not think so. Group D will not be easy for anyone whether Messi or no Messi. All the teams will work their pants wet. CAIN(C_roatia, A_rgentina, I_celand, N_igeria) should not expect an easy qualification. No one is rolling over for anyone. So these matches are just ‘show body’s but the real training will be after all the major leagues have ended and a 2-3 weeks camping starts.
