Former Nigerian youth international Gbenga Arokoyo is looking forward to making a huge impact at Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 23- year-old defender joined Timbers on Tuesday from Turkish side Gaziantepspor.
He joined fellow Nigerian Fanendo Adi who played a key role in the Timbers' MLS Cup success last season.
The former Kwara United player told Completesportsnigeria.com that he is keen on becoming an important player for his new side like his countryman, Adi.
"I'm delighted to have joined a big club in the MLS like the Portland Timbers," the former Flying Eagles player told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"It's a big and positive step in my career and I hope to make the best use of it.
"Having another Nigerian (Adi) around here will help me settle down well. He has done remarkably well for the club and I hope to emulate him by becoming a big player for the club."
