Anglo- Nigerian Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom has been told to consider two loan offers from the Dutch Eredivisie by the club’s new Academy chief Andries Jonker.
Akpom, 18, has represented England at every youth level up to Under-19s and also made his debut in the Arsenal first team two seasons ago.
The talented forward, who scored six goals in nine U-21 Premier League games last season, has previously been sent out on loan to Brentford and Coventry City in a bid to gain first-team experience.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger possesses a wealth of attacking options in Akpom’s position this season with the likes of Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo ahead of him in the pecking order.
Eredivisie sides Feyenoord and FC Twente have both contacted Arsenal about the availability of Akpom in January 2015 and it looks likely that Wenger will give the green light for the forward to go on a season-long loan in Holland.
New Head of Youth development Jonker and several of his academy staff have a good relationship with Feyenoord in particular and have encouraged Akpom to consider any loan bid which comes his way.
