Arsenal Vs Chelsea FA Cup Final Divides Nollywood Stars

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Ahead of Saturday’s English FA Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium, Nollywood stars who are passionate fans of the London clubs are hoping for victory for their teams, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Chelsea are the new Premier League champions in England while Arsenal finished outside the Champions League places for the first time in 20 years.

Arsenal supporters, Richard Mofe Damijo and Anthony Onyegbulem better known as Okey Bakassi in the Nigerian entertainment industry, spoke with Completesportsnigeria.com on their thoughts on the game.

“That will be a massive final. The season was terrible for Arsenal and I don’t know if an FA Cup win for Arsenal will be a fitting consolation,” star actor RMD said.

“Missing the Champions League is very disappointing but I guess in the past few years Arsene Wenger knows that he has been lucky to achieve that Champions League qualification with his team. All the same I will be watching on Saturday. I hope they win for the sake of the fans.”

Okey Bakassi on his part hopes the Gunners get one over Antonio Conte’s Blues to convince superstar duo of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to stay.

“It will be very sad to see world class players like Sanchez and Ozil leave, and who will begrudge them,” the comedian and actor told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“But maybe if Arsenal win the FA Cup and offer them the kind of wages they want, who knows…l hope we win though.”

Chelsea fans, actor Segun Arinze and comedian Jephthah Bowoto (Akpororo), are confident about their team’s quest for the domestic double this season.

“Football is unpredictable but at the moment I’m confident that Chelsea can add the FA Cup to their trophy cabinet this season,” Nollywood veteran Arinze told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“Arsenal no doubt will come out all blazing but I feel injuries to some of their key players will hurt them.”

Comedian and actor Akpororo said: “How I think the game will go? A win definitely for Chelsea my brother. Arsenal wan win?

“But seriously right now I don’t see this Arsenal defeating Chelsea. Their confidence could be down after missing out on Champions League football.

“I am predicting a 3-1 win for Chelsea in the final.”
