LIVERPOOL are on red alert as Atletico Madrid prepare to offload Arda Turan and replace him with Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla.
The Turkey international is rumoured to be unhappy at the Vicente Calderon, and has been linked with a switch to Anfield this summer.
Turan is valued at £26.5m by the La Liga champions, and reports claim that Diego Simeone is ready to part ways with the playmaker.
The former Argentina international has apparently made Carzorla his first-choice transfer target, but knows that the Gunners star will reject the move unless he can operate in his favoured No10 role behind the striker.
That position is currently occupied by Turan, and despite the former Galatasaray man’s ability to play on either flank, Simeone is prepared to cash in.
The 28-year-old was previously a target for the Reds back in 2011, and revealed before joined Atletico that he would love to ply his trade on Merseyside.
Turan added: “I want to play in major leagues and my dream team is Liverpool.”
