Hosts Bayern Munich's poor outing at this year's pre-season Audi Cup continued on Wednesday as they lost 2-0 to Serie A club Napoli in the third place match at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
A goal in each half from Kalidou Koulibaly and Emanuele Giaccherini in the 14th and 55th minutes respectively secured the win for Napoli.
The defeat was Bayern's second of the four-team tournament as they were thrashed 3-0 by Liverpool in their first game on Tuesday.
The 2-0 defeat to Napoli means Bayern failed to score a single goal and conceded five, their worst ever performance in the Audi Cup since its inception in 2009.
The final will see Liverpool take on Spanish LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid later on Wednesday night.
Ten-man Atletico came from a goal down to beat Napoli 2-1 in the first game of the tournament.
Bayern remain the most successful team of the Audi Cup with three trophies.
