Nigerian midfielder, Raphael Ayagwa has teamed up with Norwegian top division side, Lillestrom SK, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 20 year old attacking midfielder joined Lillestrom on a four-year deal from reigning Nigerian Professional Football League champions, Plateau United on Wednesday.
Ayagwa featured for Plateau United in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League qualifying rounds and scored a goal against Etoile du Sahel on matchday-2 in Sousse. Plateau United lost the game 4-2.
He also made several appearances in the NPFL league before the break.
Ayagwa is seen as an ideal replacement for compatriot, Ifeanyi Matthew, who is expected to be sold before the end of the transfer window, according to Lillestrom’s official website.
“It feels good to be here and the club feels like a big family. I had to wait a little for my visa in Nigeria, but now I’m finally here,”Ayagwa told Lillestrom’s official website.
“And everything works very well. Mathew came to the hotel and welcomed me today early. I really appreciated that.
“My ambition is to play with the big guys in Europe.”
Lillestrom are currently 13th in the Norwegian Eliteserien league table and will face Haguesand this Sunday.
