Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida insists, the U-23 Eagles must improve on their performance if they are to make it to the last four at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal and possibly secure a place in the football event of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The U-23 Eagles have struggled to impress at the competition and now face a tough task in their bid to make it to the next stage after surrendering a 2-0 lead against Egypt in their second group game on Wednesday.
"Two games, five goals and four points is not really bad, but the team really needs to improve,"Babangida told Complestesportsnigeria.com.
"Now they face the Algerians who are one of the best teams in the competition. It's going to be a tough battle, but I won't rule out the Eagles from beating them.
"But it is important that the coaches correct all the deficiencies in the team, if not it is going to be difficult to beat the Algerians.
"The Nigerian boys were lucky against Mali and Egypt, but things might be different in the last game."
