Volyn forward Michael Babatunde stresses that the Super Eagles are ready to take on Argentina in Wednesday’s final group game in Porto Alegre as they feel they can overcome any obstacle with team spirit.

The reigning African champions will qualify for the second round of the World Cup for the first time in 16 years if they avoid defeat against the Albiceleste after defeating Bosnia and Babatunde believes his side have what it takes to go further in the tournament.

“It’s not going to be an easy game, but we’ve got the players, we’ve got the belief and the togetherness to do a job on them, he said.

“We’re more organised than ever. The lads have all been fighting for each other, so I think we’ve got a great chance. It’s important that we believe in ourselves. We’ve got a great group of players and we’re confident. We feel good, we’ve prepared well and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Dubbed African Messi, Babatunde is also relishing playing against his idol Lionel Messi on Wednesday.

“It will be a dream if I get the opportunity o start against Argentina.

“I had a knock but it’s nothing serious. I will be ready to play if the coach decides to hand me my third start.”

The former Krybass winger has made five appearances for the three time African champions.
