Michael Babatunde believes there is still more to come from him after scoring his first ever goal for SC Qatari in Sunday’s 5-1 win away to UMM Salal at the Arab Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian international, who made it 3-0 for the visitors in the 49th minute after a brace from Victor Gregory in the first half, also provided an assist for the fourth goal to the delight of his Romanian coach Aurel Ţicleanu.
“Obviously it’s nice for a player to score in his first game,” Babatunde told Completesportsnigeria.com from his base in Doha.
“My coach was very happy I dominated the game as he wanted but I wish I scored more than that goal.
“There’s still a lot to come from me because our target is to regain promotion back to the elite division.”
Babatunde who scored five goals for SC Qatari in pre-season however refused to set a goal target for himself despite his bright start.
He added: “I want to play with freedom and if the goals come I will take them.”
Babatunde signed a three-year deal at Qatar SC last summer worth $3.2m.
