Bafana Midfielder Thanks Fans, Reveals Tactics Against Nigeria

Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali, who starred in midfield as South Africa held Nigeria to a 0-0 AFCON qualifier draw at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday has thanked the fans for their passionate support.

Jali who was declared Man of the Match after the game, got the better of Mikel Obi and company in the overall midfield battle on the night and was unlucky not to lead his team to what would have been only their second ever victory over the Super Eagles.

Following the barren draw, Jali who spoke to reporters after the game, appealed to the supporters to “be patient with us and we will make you happy.”

“Give us time and please be patient (after 0-0 draw). We did well here (in Cape Town) and we did so because of the 12th man. The fans came in their numbers to Cape Town and I want to say thank you,” Jali said in appreciation as reported by www.africanfootball.com

“We knew that if the stadium was full we would play the way the supporters wanted us to play. We knew before the game that Nigeria players don’t like to be turned around; they don’t like to run, we knew if we turned them they would struggle. We played according to our skills.”

Nigeria have 12 points left to play for and will be guests to Sudan on 11 October while South Africa will be hosted by Group A leaders in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers, Congo.

You see what i have been saying that our players are lazy, and opponents have noticed their laziness . Please leave Coach alone. They play big man football.

    Toooo and very lazy

    @Marsh
Please stop the nonsense of blindly defending the Coach. If those players are lazy then it is Keshi’s responsibility to find players who are not lazy.

Pleas I hope you are not trying to blame the Nigerian players for drawing with South Africa. U are totally wrong if u think the players are to blame. Those players put in 100% effort and were commited when compared to the congo game.

The Eagles coaches are responsible for Nigeria having only 1 point. I have nothing against Keshi but when i hear him analyze Nigeria game against Congo and SA and the reasons for the poor results, I am beginning to doubt very seriously that Keshi is the right person to take Nigeria forward.

Since Nigeria qaulified for the 2014 World Cup, Nigeria has won only 1 game out of 11 games played. That is a poor showing. Please enough of the cheap excuses and blindly defending the coach.

nigerian football wil only get better if our coaches will be sincere in selection not jst in d national team but also in our local leagues,
Their selection is always not fear, nigeria has a lot of talented player to be harnessed but dis coaches turn a blind eye to it n keep working with team filled wit faithful tithes.

Bla Bla Bla. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Anybody can cry as much as they want about a bad a coach.

Brazil played excellently well in the confederations cup to the point that from the look of things it was guaranteed ahead of time that the world cup was theirs. Yet we all saw what happened. Mind you, under the same coach.

The 2 secrets to the success of tiki taka Barcelona football was accuracy of passes and the willingness to run to receive passes and run to charge as a unit when the need arises.

When it comes to Super eagles, though I agree that keshi is not who we need, yet those boys are lazy (not all of them though). Look at what Mikel played in the world cup; when he loses the ball, instead of doing whatever it takes to avert danger, he jogs backwards or even stops totally to complain to the officials while the ball is heading to our goal. He is still doing the same thing right now. Efe Ambrose loves to attack, but has a very big problem retreating when he is supposed to, the same thing happens when he plays at Celtics. The list goes on!!!!!

My conclusion? the players lost the game against SA, not the coach! Those boys are having problems with their fitness. They cannot keep up with the current pace of football for 90 minutes. That is why most of them, starting with our supposed-to-be best player Mikel do not make team A at their clubs.

Those boys need to be weeded, and the coaching crew flushed. Until you get players like Osaze who are ready to run for 90 minutes, forget nations cup as well as the next nations cup and world cup!!!!!!

Even if you bring in Diego Simeoni, Jose Morinho, pellagrini or Pep Guardiola with the current bunch of boys, nothing will really change. Nobody can make an unwilling horse drink water by force!

Thank you @Marsh,why must Keshi keep playing John Obi in the midfield as number 10? Mikel can not run,can not take a shot at post .what is he doing with number 10 shirt? Where is Babatunde? Mikel is a lazy player.

The truth is that Nff executives are all blind.I wonder if they actually watch the super eagles play.It is really disgraceful to watch our players become victims of Keshis bad selection and lack of tactical abilities.I really wonder what they are waiting for to sack keshi…maybe when country like Gambia beat us right.I said it after the world cup that I will stop to watch the eagles play having keshi as coach because I dont want to develop heart attack and I must respect this my humble decision and I know many other fans will do the same. How can you give a palm kernel nut to a teethless child? I rest my case but very soon,we shall see the fowl nash

    keshi not serious really.

Yes mikel’s pace killed our game. The players were too slow, when attacking, strikers overworked themselves as they were far from each others thereby their pàssès arè easily intercepted.Let our coach watch how barca play and how germany infuse it into their national team. Our golden eaglets’ pattern can be adàpted into our super eagles using more fitter players in the midfield.

I pray moses regain his form and osaze quickly recovers, I also want to see the infusion of ikechukwu uche and martins upfront and possibly a tall striker to score from corner kicks and free kicks. I want keshi to watch our league matches like westerhof so as to discover hungry players that will fit into his gameplan.
