Bafana Bafana beat Santos FC 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in a warm-up game at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

It was Santos who opened the scoring, with Amajita hero Fagray Lakay scoring a scorcher past his U20 teammate Dumisani Msibi, who started in goal for Bafana. 1-0 to Santos.

But midway through the first half Themba Zwane levelled matters, with a shot from outside the area.1-1.

Bafana went into the lead when Sibusiso Khumalo scored from just outside the area. 2-1 to Bafana.

Keagan Dolly wrapped up the result, beating the goalkeeper, who was off his line, with a long effort, to make it 3-1.

Many of those who played on Friday were not involved, including Eric Mathoho, Andile Jali and Bongani Ndulula.

South Africa beat Sudan 3-0 in Khartoum in their opening Group A game on Friday, while Nigeria lost 3-2 at home to Congo-Brazzaville in Calabar on Saturday.

No excuse from any of you. Just go to South Africa and redeem your battered image, provided Nigeria is still not yet banned by FIFA by that time. I foresee a situation where at the end of matches on Wednesday, all four teams in our group will have three points each; it’s not over until it is over.

I hope by now, Keshi should have learned his lessons. He underrated the Congolese by benching his best strikers in the first half. I expect Emenike, Gbolahan Salami, Sone Aluko and Joel Obi (ahead of Azeez) to be in the starting line up against South Africa. the defence should be reorganized, it seems Omeruo is not in the best frame of mind, let Odunlami replace him, Oboabona too should buckle up. I see South Africans crying out of their stadium on Wednesday.
